Q & A
What makes more livable futures for you?
A more livable future for me is a future where we can work to move beyond our hidden biases and truly connect and appreciate the value of each life and each other.
What are you reading, viewing, listening to right now?
Right now, I am reading a variety of books related to Korean history as well as books that address mental health and bring out vulnerability in both the author and reader. A few being, A Kim Jong-Il Production by Paul Fischer, The Waiting by Keum Suk Gendry-Kim and I Want to Die but I Want to Eat Tteokkbokki by Baek Sehee. I have also been listening to the podcast Rotten Mango by Stephanie Soo, which is a true crime podcast that focuses on storytelling with a purpose and follows international cases. It reminds me that while there is a lot of pain in the world, there is good in humanity working to protect life and those that cannot speak for themselves.
What practices are sustaining you?
Walking! I like to be unplugged from my phone and listen to the sounds around me.
Also cooking! By becoming more conscious of what products I use to cook, I have become more informed about the production and its impacts on both the body, mind, and earth. It has also been a great stress reliever and an amazing way of connecting with friends and family and culture.
